About Maryam Rajavi

Maryam Rajavi, born on December 4, 1953 in Tehran, has been the president-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) since 1993. After obtaining her B.S degree in Metallurgy from the Sharif University of Technology in Iran, Maryam became a supporter, and subsequently a member, of the Mujahedin-e Khalq (abbreviated MEK, PMOI) organization, which is the first Iranian organization to have systematically developed a modern revolutionary interpretation of Islam.
